We invite you to bring the kids up to the Roof Weds, May 25, at 11am for a family-friendly storytime hosted by Victoria Scott-Miller, as she celebrates the publication of her new children’s book, “The Museum Lives in Me,” commissioned by the North Carolina Museum of Art. Victoria will read from her new book as well as other selections from her Liberation Station Bookstore.

There comes a time when the storyteller begins to write their own stories and that is exactly what Victoria Scott-Miller has done! Scott-Miller is a Raleigh-based author and owner of the trailblazing, globally recognized Liberation Station Bookstore, specializing in children’s literature that highlights characters of color. The store has been spotlighted in numerous media outlets, including the Washington Post, Good Morning America, and CNN. In 2021, she was inducted as the youngest and first African American woman into the Wake County Public School Hall of Fame in the category of Entrepreneurship.

This event is free and open to the public. Grab coffee, juice, and cookies beforehand at the Coffee Bar in our lobby, and be sure to stop by the Black Lit Library in our entryway to discover more children’s books curated by Liberation Station Bookstore.
